Covenant House Missouri Receives $1 Million Gift from Tim and Robin Wentworth to Support Expanding Program Operations

Covenant House Missouri’s Chief Executive Officer, Jessica Erfling, announces with profound gratitude that Covenant House Missouri has received the largest single private gift in the organization’s history. Supporters Tim and Robin Wentworth have donated $1 million to Covenant House Missouri in support of the organization’s campus expansion.

Tim Wentworth serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Evernorth (Express Scripts and Cigna). Tim and Robin are expanding their support of Covenant House Missouri at a time when homelessness among youth is skyrocketing. The Wentworths have supported the Covenant House Missouri mission since 2015, and have co-chaired Sleep Out: Executive Edition, the organization’s largest fundraising event.

“The entire Covenant House Family is overwhelmed with gratitude. Since the pandemic began, our waitlist for services has more than doubled. A gift of this magnitude will make it possible to continue to provide the best level of support for the young people living and thriving at Covenant House,” Erfling shares. “We are honored that Tim and Robin have generously increased their support of our mission as our organization grows.  This transformational investment in young people will allow us to work with more youth on their journey from homelessness to hope.

Erfling made the announcement internally at a Covenant House Missouri all-staff meeting on campus in March. Tim Wentworth attended the meeting and received a standing ovation from staff, who could feel the deep belief the Wentworths have in the work they do every single day. The gift will support ongoing expansion projects at Covenant House Missouri’s campus, detailed here.

“We fully support Covenant House Missouri’s mission and operations,” said Tim and Robin. “The staff works around the clock to provide holistic services at a critical time in young peoples’ lives. We have confidence in the leadership and direction of the organization and believe that this gift will support young people’s ability to live fulfilling lives and be contributing members of the community.”
