Two New Members Join the Covenant House Missouri Board of Directors
St. Louis, MO – Covenant House Missouri proudly welcomes two new board members who bring a variety of valuable expertise to the organization. The Board of Directors, now consisting of 20 members, advocates for youth facing homelessness and trafficking who turn to Covenant House Missouri for shelter and services.
Terrence Chance and Mike Morrison join Covenant House Missouri at the commencement of the three-year strategic plan that focuses on expanding and improving the services that Covenant House provides to youth ages 16-24 in St. Louis.
“The FY23 – FY25 strategic plan was carefully curated with the future of Covenant House at the forefront of our minds. Our team of employees and board members will all work together to continue to provide care and compassion for unhoused youth in our community. When it came time to recruit new members to our board, the decision was simple. Terrence and Mike will provide immense guidance and leadership to our organization as we begin working through our new strategic plan,” says CEO Jessica Erfling.
Terrence Chance, Finance Executive and Chief Financial Officer for the Weapons Systems Division at The Boeing Company in St. Louis, has expressed fervent commitment to the organization and its mission. His compassion for underserved young adults in this community, combined with his strong financial acumen, will advance the work being done. “I remain inspired and uplifted by the Covenant House mission,” says Chance. “When organizations are dedicated to the population they serve and invest in their employees, the benefits are immeasurable. Joining the Covenant House team at the start of the new strategic plan grants me a unique perspective; the progress we will make over the next three years fills me with excitement and hope.”
Mike Morrison, Heartland Operation Regional Director for Cisco, takes pride in cultivating a healthy workplace environment. “Helping my team to be better than what they thought they could be is much more fulfilling than going it alone. My early years at the U.S. Air Force Academy taught me about teamwork, to always do what you say you're going to do, and about trust, accountability, and loyalty. My hope is to lend my skills and experience to the team and young people at Covenant House Missouri,” says Morrison.”
Service for the new board members began on July 1, at the start of the organization’s new fiscal year. Mike and Terrence have both committed to an initial three-year term on the board, with the opportunity to serve a second term.
