Accelerating The Good
“How do you shelter in place when you have no home?”
For the more than 36,000 school-age children experiencing homelessness in Missouri, the
Greater St. Louis area Kia dealers stepped up to answer this question emphatically with its
Accelerate the Good initiative.
Throughout the month of December, Greater St. Louis area Kia dealerships are supporting
Covenant House Missouri to provide hope to youth experiencing homelessness this holiday
season.
In addition to financial support, Kia has also teamed up with iHeartMedia to raise public
awareness through print and radio advertisements.
“We are so grateful for our friends at Kia for this support, especially as we continue to deal with
the challenges of the pandemic,” said Covenant House Missouri Executive Director Jessica
Erfling. “Kia is helping us provide a safe space for our young people, which is a beautiful gift.
And once our young people are safe with us, Kia’s support is helping our young people to
continue their education, find jobs, and work on skills needed for independent living. The goal
for all our youth is a successful transition to sustainable independent living. Kia is standing with
us to reach this goal and we could not be more grateful.”
“We are proud to support Covenant House Missouri with our Accelerate the Good initiative,”
said Scott Cooper, Regional Marketing Manager at Kia Motors America. “This year has been so
difficult for everyone, but especially for young people experiencing homelessness who have no
place to turn for help. Covenant House Missouri is that place. During these uncertain times, Kia
seeks to provide support to local communities that stand together to tackle the greater good, and
we hope everyone will join us in supporting the young people at Covenant House Missouri this
holiday season.”
“Kia’s ongoing support in our fight for the futures of youth experiencing homelessness is every
day making a difference in the lives of young people at Covenant House,” said Covenant House
President Kevin Ryan. “At Covenant House every day we see young people who have endured
the trauma of living on the streets and the horrors of human trafficking. But we are also
privileged to see their courage, their goodness, their talent, and their amazing potential. The
ongoing support and partnership with Kia is not only raising the funds we’ll use to provide life-
saving food, clothing, shelter and medical attention to youth overcoming homelessness. With the
help of our friends at iHeartMedia, Kia is helping us to educate millions of good people and
inspiring them to do more. We are so grateful to Kia for shining a light on this issue, especially
as we continue to fight through the challenges of COVID-19.”
