Dr. Yusef Scoggin Named Covenant House Missouri’s Incoming Chief Executive Officer

Covenant House Missouri's Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Yusef Scoggin as the new Chief Executive Officer of the organization. Dr. Scoggin comes to Covenant House Missouri with more than a decade of experience in leadership, social work, and community advocacy.

Most recently, Dr. Scoggin served as the Director of the Department of Human Services for the City of St. Louis. He has also acted as Director of the Office of Family & Community Services for the St. Louis County Department of Human Services. Dr. Scoggin has dedicated his career to serving vulnerable populations and advocating for social justice.

"During his time at DHS, Yusef has made lasting impacts, building relationships with our homeless service providers and establishing a modern data-driven process to address housing instability," said St. Louis Mayor Tishaura O. Jones. "I wish him well, and look forward to working with him at Covenant House to support our unhoused youth."

Covenant House Missouri provides shelter and support services for homeless and runaway youth aged 16 to 24. The organization offers housing, education, job training, mental health services, and more to help young people overcome the challenges of homelessness and transition to a more stable future.

"This organization is doing critical work to support young people in our community who have experienced homelessness and other challenges. I look forward to working with the board, staff, and young people served by Covenant House Missouri to continue this important work and help even more young people thrive."

Dr. Scoggin will assume his new role as Chief Executive Officer on April 17, 2023. Covenant House Missouri thanks outgoing CEO, Jessica Erfling, for her years of dedicated service and leadership.
