St. Louis Kia Dealers donate over $13,000 to Covenant House Missouri

Kia dealers from across St. Louis, worried about the rise of homeless youth on the streets, came together to donate a substantial gift of support to Covenant House Missouri. The donation is part of Kia America’s  larger, nationwide charitable initiative, “Accelerate the Good,” in which the automaker joins with its nationwide retailer network to support nonprofit efforts in local communities.

“We are so proud to support Covenant House Missouri, as they impact and improve the lives of homeless youth in our neighborhoods every day,” said Scott Cooper,  Kia America. “They help our youth learn new skills, build new lives and contribute to our community, and all the St. Louis Kia dealerships and employees are honored to be a part of this positive change.”

The donation is a continuation of Kia America’s highly successful “Accelerate the Good” charitable program, which was implemented in 2019. From producing and distributing personal protective equipment (“PPE) for front line medical workers to supporting high school football programs that lost funding during the pandemic, Kia America and Kia dealerships across the U.S. have stepped up during these difficult past few years.

“This donation from Kia America means so much to our staff and the young people we serve. It is so refreshing to be reminded of the support we have from St. Louis area businesses. We continue to face the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and rates of youth homelessness is still on the rise. Gifts like this allow us to keep our doors open 24/7, 365 days a year to welcome youth facing homelessness and trafficking,” says Colleen Daum, Chief Advancement and Advocacy Officer at Covenant House Missouri.
