Since 2005, Sue Wagener has served as Executive Director at Covenant House Missouri. She has worked in the non-profit sector for almost 30 years, and the majority of her work has been with youth who are at-risk and their families. Throughout her career, Sue has been an advocate for the importance of strong, comprehensive mental health services for this population, understanding that mental stability is the foundation of success.
Sue holds a B.S. in Social Work from Southwest Missouri State University and an M.S. in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis.
Director, Clinical Services
Lori Brandt, who joined CHMO in 2006, oversees the community based programs. Prior to working at CHMO, Lori worked with pregnant and parenting women in a residential setting. Lori has worked in social services in the St. Louis area for more than 10 years, focusing primarily on children and families. Lori earned both a B.A. in psychology and a M.S. in social work, with an emphasis on children and families, from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Additionally, Lori holds a clinical license in social work.
Senior Director, Quality Assurance & Evaluation
Tammie Crumble-Belk is the Senior Director of Operations. With 18 years’ experience in the Human Service field, Tammie is well versed in the ever-pressing issues surrounding homeless youth and families. She translates her passion for the human rights of others by operating programs that are strength based and embodies program excellence. As the Senior Director of Operations at Covenant House Missouri, she is responsible for leading the program and facility operations team in addition to developing and overseeing CHMO’s Quality Improvement Process.
She received her B.S.W. from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and her M.S.W. from St. Louis University. She is also a FOCUS St. Louis CORO Women in Leadership Class 63 graduate.
Director, Human Resources
Karen George-Scherr has more than 10 years of experience in all aspects of Human Resources including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, benefits administration, and organizational development.
A large part of her career was spent in a healthcare technology organization where she worked developing and leading the accounting and finance, human resources, and business intelligence departments.
Karen attended Saint Louis University. She is active in her community and dedicated to helping others through her volunteer work.
Since 2012, Kelly Hieronymus has served as Director of Finance at Covenant House Missouri. Kelly has more 30 years of financial accounting experience, serving as a Controller for companies in the for-profit sector. Previous to joining CHMO, Kelly served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama, working with high school youth to develop entrepreneurial and computer skills.
Kelly holds a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Kristine Mannecke joined Covenant House Missouri in September 2014 to lead fundraising, marketing and volunteer initiatives throughout the organization. Prior to joining Covenant House Missouri, Kristine spent 11 years as a driving force for Wyman Center, where her contributions helped to grow the organization from a local service provider to a nationally recognized youth development organization. Kristine’s more than 20 years of work spans both sides of the philanthropic sector. In the late 1990s, she worked to establish, set policy for and administer a multi-million dollar fund which provided support to a variety of national and international programs.
Kristine earned a M.A. in marketing from Webster University, and a B.A. in journalism/advertising with an emphasis in public relations from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a member of AFP and was a member of the FOCUS St. Louis Leadership St. Louis Class of 2008-09. She has been a guest lecturer at Webster University and served as a panelist on philanthropic issues for The Rome Group.
